During a public health volunteer mission, you intervene by coming to meet people in villages, or institutions such as schools and reception centers to encourage initiatives around health and well-being. You help local doctors in consultations to:
blood tests: blood pressure, sugar levels, etc.
Measurements of the Body Mass Index (BMI)
detections of various chronic or contagious diseases
Malaria detection
treatment and dressing of wounds
education and information on general health issues in the form of workshops
Medical courses useful to local communities
These visits make it possible to detect possible diseases more quickly and thus improve the general health of the communities. Regular information campaigns ensure a better understanding of health risks by women and children, the main audiences for these programs.
